Weiß kreuz is based upon many stories, only the most recent ones being the anime series itself. Previous to that, like most anime, was a short story, Forever White. Based upon that is the more familiar manga, An Assassin and White Shaman by Tsuchiya Kyoko, created in conjunction with the first pair of Dramatic Image Albums. Yet another official story was printed recently in the Gakken OAV Mook, called Ranjatai. However, Weiß kreuz just isn't what it is, without the fan base. There are an enormous number of doujinshi printed, some yaoi, mostly shounen-ai, not to mention four official doujinshi anthologies, called Ja! Weiß.
