For ssecca01: "Lance/Justin... post!sync... they have a child."

"She's crying," Justin said, his voice blurry with the exhaustion that wouldn't go away no matter how many stolen hours of sleep he tried to stock up. "And she won't stop. She isn't hungry and she isn't wet and she isn't tired and I don't know what in the hell she wants. Are you sure that we didn't get a defective model from the factory or something?"

"She's just teething," Lance said, and slid his finger into Kayla's mouth. The thin high cry cut off and she blinked at him, as though he was some fascinating specimen that was completely out of her limited range of experience. Justin closed his eyes and counted to ten, using that time to completely and thoroughly hate Lance and all that he stood for, before opening his eyes again and seeing what Lance was doing, which was apparently rubbing the baby's gums briskly. The hate, no matter how good it had felt for those ten seconds, bled away to be replaced by the love that still scared the hell out of him no matter how many times he was broadsided by it.

"Joey didn't warn us how much they yell," Justin said. "I'm pretty sure that this should have been mentioned in the instruction manual."

"Joey didn't warn us how much they yell because he didn't want to scare us off." Close-up, Justin could see the exhaustion hovering around the edges of Lance's eyes, too, no matter how much Lance tried to cover it up. "I think we're doing a damn fine job, actually. Neither of us have dropped her yet, at least."

"I give it another month," Justin said, and tried to stifle the yawn.

"Go get some sleep," Lance said. His hands and arms were full of small, squirming baby, but the look he gave Justin was as good as a hug anyway. "You need it."

"Next time we decide to do this, remind me that it's ten times harder than mounting a full-scale US tour," Justin mumbled, and the thought that there might be a "next time" warmed the depths of his heart.
