Something like a novelization of the game's Bhujerba episode, told from Larsa's point of view. (The title is provisory.)
For the past couple of years Kristin etc. have been tossing around a WAFFy AU in which Ran is a techno DJ and Gingetsu bodyguards or otherwise sticks around, and they travel (details vary depending on who's writing; there's been very little attempt at background coherence XD). This is the akchul DJing bit, i.e. less a story than a description of a minimal techno night as they occur in these parts.
Clover-the-manga shares an aesthetic with melancholy minimal techno of the Kompakt/Dial stripe. No, for reals. ...But mostly it's about the cute.
More like fictionalized annotations toward a non-existent reading (viewing?) comprehension essay than a story proper. Ovid, Kurosawa and Orbital are misappropriated to varying degrees (but not, thankfully, La Sylphide). What we learn from this exercise is that boomerangs are nifty, Jack knows everything, and it's a dumb idea to write fic for an anime based on a novel one is in the process of reading. For Tin's Mile-Long Pole Challenge.
A Christmas present exchange request, you'd better believe it. XD Lead is a not-uncute Japanese boyband about whom I know nearly nothing (other than watching the somewhat intriguing film Kamachi in which they starred), which is why this is classic non-slashy popslash all about mediated existence versus "reality", fame, authenticity of talent etc.
The first year of Meiji, late in the spring. The result of an unseemly collision between Ugetsu Monogatari and the more depressing end of the Cure's discography. Will probably be contradicted by canon, which is just as well.
Based on a (supremely odd) manga by (the supremely something) Motoni Modoru. A thumbnail recap of the series would run thus: angels, demons, evil student councils, evil faceless corporations, sociopathic teen violence and prostitution, Japanese snack foods, obscure 80's references, mockery of Yuki Kaori, mockery of Squeenix RPGs, tasteless gay jokes, and vomit. The fic adds a bit of sex, the actual necessity of which is astonishing when you consider the canon is Motoni. ^^;
Sabina's Second Fanfic, part of the 'Rainshine' YYH universe that's threatening to leak into my 'Lay of Nine' universe. It's about Kurama, Hiei, and kitsune religious observances transplanted to Tokyo.
A collection of 200-word metaphor-game semi-songfics based on Zetsuai 4 – Bronze 1. They take about a day each to write, and are great fun — I get to use stuff like "holy icon of lust," because it's Kouji.
All right, I lied. NorthSea wasn't my first fanfic: I wrote this when I was in high school. It's Anne Rice VampChron spec, and if I mistake not won the Golden Rat in... 1998?... for Best Mary Sue. (Which gives an idea of the state of the fandom at the time. ^^;) Original female character, can't argue with the appellation but it's not the usual run of MS. It's slightly yaoi because VampChron is by definition, and rampantly self-indulgent because I was in high school.
And something else I wrote at the time — a poem. (Tell me again why I'm trying to make you poor people read stuff that I wrote at seventeen... oh the wonders of the web that you'd put up with this...)
