A camerawork exercise in prose. Or: a pictoral representation of Mozart's Sonata in A, K331, first movement, variation by variation (in lieu of red roses, white roses, blue roses, pink roses, etc.), at the stated tempo. If you don't know the piece... you know the piece, trust me. XD
"Translator's note:
I have done my best to approximate the impact and emotion Lien's poetry must have in the Chinese, but given the impossibilty of adequately expressing its highly formal and complex structure, and the errors of phrasing that inevitably occur when one is working from the translation of a translation, I fear that my effort are, at best, satisfactory.
-P.L." (par Subdee, and believe me this is how I feel about it for reals.)
Naomi Novik's Temeraire novels, for Tin's Amanuensis Challenge.
Honjou Ren in London. There was this Ciara video I caught at least five times on Belgian MTV during my holiday, and of course I keep threatening to songfic the Pet Shop Boys.
Gainax recently put out these figurines of what the angels would look like if they were anime girls... including Nagisa Kaworu with no pants on. The ficlet itself is as serious as can be managed given the premise.
Saitou and Pazu discuss the value of politically activist song lyrics. Distantly inspired by M.I.A.'s Arular (and likely incomprehensible without watching all of Second Gig).
Quistis, fighting for control.
George drives Isabella to a funeral. Inspired out of nowhere by a passage in Colette.
Kaien x Aisha snippet, with emphasis on Aisha's psychology (methinks the original concept was that she was acting to draw Kaien's latent desire away from Amaterasu, hence the title). If you haven't read the manga, know that this is a seductive but on-crack pairing. Then again, if you haven't read the manga (what are you waiting for, wretch?), you won't get this at all.
Right, how's that for a working title? ^^; Currently a (two-)drabble sequence, but could very well become more. I'm as in the dark regarding this story as you are; every once in a while a little more occurs to me, and I write and post it.
(If you haven't seen this film, don't come back until you have. I mean it. It may well be Miyazaki's masterpiece.)
Remus and Sirius at James and Lily's first (and only >_>) Christmas party. The title is from the Scott Joplin rag.
Percy Weasley's motivation. OotP, drabble.
A S/R shortfic set during the events of OotP. Fatalistic, and inspired by "The Real Folk Blues" (the Cowboy Bebop ED theme).
