What The

Author's Note: You guys can blame my niece PrincessAeryn on this one, she was the plot bunny behind this. She made a comment and this idea popped into my innocent little head.
Setting: Futurefic

Pushing their way past the other visitors, they stepped into the next vendor's booth.

"Aeryn, you think Le'la would like this for her birthday?" John asked holding up a small, square cube with reflective sides.

Taking it from his hand, she asked, "What does it do?"

"It takes a holographic image and creates its own music to fit with the image, or you can create your own music." He answered.

"The way she feels about music, I would say she would enjoy it quite a lot, why don't you ask her."

Touching his comm, he called their daughter, "Le'la where you at? I want to ask your opinion on something."

"Hi dad...I was just about to comm you myself. Where are you and mom?"

"We're in the market...half way down on the fifth row."

"Okay, we'll be right there." Le'la said and shut down her comm.

"We? Who's this 'we'? Le'la?" He asked confused. Looking at Aeryn, "Who's this we, she's talking about?"

"She's your daughter, I don't understand her any better than I understand you sometimes." She said smiling.

Purchasing the music cube, he laughed, "I can say the same about you too. I just chalked it up to being a female thing."

As they walked out of the shop, they stood waiting on their nineteen year old daughter. It was almost time for them to leave this planet, their visitor visas expired in three solar days. They had enjoyed the planet for the last three monens and John had a feeling he was going to miss it. It was the first time in a very long time the crew had just relaxed.

Looking down at the gift, he was nervous to see if she would like it.

"Hey!" He almost jumped at the sound of her voice, he noticed Aeryn's smile at his reaction, he gave her a warning look.

"Hey...I got something for you for your birthday and wanted to give it to you." He said handing it to his daughter, his nervousness instantly gone when he saw her smile.

"I love it dad." Le'la said as she gave him a hug.

Aeryn smiled at her, "You said you wanted to speak to us about something when your father contacted you."

They both saw her suddenly grow hesitant, "Yeah well, I wanted to talk to you about. Frell, I'll just go out and say it. I was proposed to earlier and I said yes."

"Pro-proposed to? We've only been here for three monens..." John stammered as he looked at her.

"We've actually been secretly talking and meeting for the last cycle, but he asked me today. Mom...Dad, I love him and I said yes." As she smiled, it seemed her face began to glow with happiness.

Aeryn soon overcame her shock over the announcement, "Who is he? Do we know him?"

"Yes, you do. You've known him for cycles." Le'la quickly turned around and walked to the corner of the next booth. "It's okay, I told them. Come on, they won't hurt you." She said laughing.

As the figure came around the corner to meet them, John felt as if he was going to pass out.

"What the...Braca!" Both parents said at the same time.

"Crichton...Officer Sun." The Peacekeeper Captain looked over at Le'la who smiled at him with encouragement, "Or rather Mom and Dad. I want to marry your daughter Le'la Crichton."

Screaming, he fell out of the bed, hitting his head on the floor.

"John! Are you alright?" Aeryn's voice called out in the dark. Climbing back into bed, John rubbed Aeryn's enlarged stomach, "Yeah...it was just a dream. By the way...She is NEVER going to be allowed off of Moya."

Aeryn looked at him in the dim light and wondered what he could have dreamt about to cause such a response.

The End
