Work

I'm sitting here writing this right before writing a parting column for RPGamer's Q&A. That said, a lot of people are reading this are probably expecting me to say a whole bunch on the subject. Well, sorry, but that's not going to happen. Aside from some shock and denial on my part, I really don't have enough info on the subject to talk about it at the moment. So the only impact that has on this rant is that a whole lot of people are likely reading this that have never been here before. So uh, archives are over there, most of the links page is internal, and if you click that link way down in the lower right corner, well, now's the best shot there'll be in a while for people to force me into going through with that Midnight Graveyard Roleplaying deal. What with the influx of people the Japan trip being checked off, and me suddenly having a lot less keeping me from heading out to graveyards at midnight. Oh yeah, and I update roughly every Sunday night... give or take 48 hours.

Anyway though, on with the rant, as it were.

So, just before I left for Japan, I asked people which of my various projects I should crack down and work on. The big winners were Anecrophilia and writing in general (well, them and political cartoons which weren't even a choice). The catch on the writing end is that I'd like to get some stuff published, and quite frankly, that keeps you from seeing anything I consider really good. So, Anecrophilia is getting the bulk of my attention at the moment.

The catch there of course is that as it involves me drawing stuff, that's the slowest sort of progress I can make with anything, but I'm averaging a panel every two days, so that isn't too bad. Here's the other thing there. As issues actually get finished, I'd like to look into getting them published in some fashion. When I hit that point though, I ALSO plan to have all space between panels filled with weird little things. That doesn't translate over to books too well, so what I'd really like to do is print each issue as a single unbroken scroll. You know, you could use'em as props for LARPing, you could hang'em from walls like tapestries, etc. If I were to actually do this, first of all I'd need to find someone willing and able to do something like that. Second, well, the entire back of each scroll would be white space. Therefore I could sell it off as advertising space, or a place to stick comics by other people, dedications, etc. So uh, thoughts? Comments? Flames?

The other thing I've been working on, despite NOBODY suggesting I do so, is revamping my anime page. Mainly I'm adding some extra info everywhere that nobody would care about, like when things were first published, manga authors and animation studios, the date things were first aired/printed/sold, Japanese and English voice credits, stuff like that. The problem there though is that such information is often impossible to find online. On the one hand, all the more reason for me to collect it. On the other hand, well, doing so is rather tricky. So if anyone knows of a big online database where I can check stuff like that (I'm actually good on most Japanese VAs for what it's worth), it'd be nice if you clued me in. Barring that, if you're poking around the page in question and you see a string of ?s in place of something you know, (like, say, who the %@#$ originally wrote Slayers), then by all means clue me in on a case by case basis.

Mailto's over there on the right somewhere incidently. Halfway down.

Oh yes, and sorry for the big shilly rant here. For those who haven't been reading this long, whenever I have a lot of people feeling sorry for me I like to beg for money, then they go "ugh! Why am I taking pity on THIS greedy bum?" and everything's back to normal.
