As, well, most of you should know, last night my site was plugged in RPGamer's letters column. That's why the little hit counter down there now reads something well over 1000 instead of something a bit over 50. It bugs me a little though that the day I get a massive surge of visitors just HAPPENED to be the day when I just ranted about what I ate, figures. I could make that same kind of comment about the fact that a have a genius IQ, have been designing and making RPGs since I was about 8, can't draw, and yet I become a minor celebrety for the little comic strip I drew out of boredom the other night. I also find it a bit scary that after being plugged for ONE DAY in RPGamer's letters section, and heck, it wasn't even a GOOD plug, it was just a blurry shrunken copy of Slime World 2, I got 1000 new hits. Only 5 of them e-mailed me though, so I doubt I picked up a ton of new regulars. Oh, and for those of you who clicked that little link, yeah, I have a Mac and Netscape, you should too, they're better. 8) Well, that's about all the gushing my underdeveloped ego allows for, so onto the good stuff, oh, and today's Slime World and Scary Pic were made BEFORE I found out about being plugged, so no need to worry about them being tainted by a temporary sense of grandeur. The other day, I was feeling pretty lousy. At first I thought maybe it was because all of my friends were stuck in positions were they wouldn't be able to do anything for at least 2 weeks. Then I heard that Weird Al had a new CD out, and it hit me. I was running low on my Secret 80's Energy. For some reason, entertainment from the mid to late 1980's has a profound affect on my spiritual well being. As far as I can tell, it's because it's really cool. Don't get me wrong, it's not that I dislike ALL 90's culture, I mean, right now there's The Simpsons (and so on), MST3K, and the mysterious resurgance of Sci-Fi movies. I mean, we haven't had THIS many Sci-Fi movies since the 50s, and before that, there weren't ANY. So, moving on with my little story, I was feeling lousy, so I decided to recharge. I listened to some old Weird Al songs, watched the Bill and Ted movies, and played some old NES games. Anyway, I felt alot better after that, but to recieve a FULL recharge, I'm going to have to watch Transformers: The Movie. Released in 1985, and containing amoung other things Dare to Be Stupid, the voices of Lenard Nemoy, Orson Wells, and Optimus Prime, and they got some anime artists, it is the best possible source for recharging my Secret 80's Energy. Oh, and yes, I do have someone bringing me a copy shortly. I'd just buy the thing if I had the money and knew where it was. Hey, wait, I've already ranted on TF:tM, haven't I? Darn, in that case, I'll just give you some Fanmail tips as a countdown to the Scary Pic. Don't forget, I have a test audience that DID scream out loud... Feel free to mail me anime pictures to serve as Evil Fodder... Also feel free to send me... oh say, translated ROM hacks of Seiken Densetsu 3, no wait, that's illegal (wink wink)... Don't send me anything ummy ever, I think I defined Um in an earlier rant... Feel free to send insane joking hatemail, it's funny... The Scary Pic is almost here... If you're going to turn back, do it now... This one took my like half an hour and I couldn't get the hair right... I don't really have a witty title for it, I think it speaks for itself... Again, my usual appologies... So, here it is!
