Time to Finish Something

A few months ago, I was sitting around talking with some published and aspiring authors, and I ended up mentioning a story I started writing a while back. Someone asked why I hadn't finished it yet, I said it was because I had too many other things I was working on. Specifically, all this stuff:

Well, two things on there are actually completed to be fair, but since checking them off I've added two more. So anyway, here's how this is going to work. I'm going to give a brief run-down of what all these daruma here represent, and then you people are going to mail me telling me which one you'd like to see finished first. Well, that last part is optional, but it benefits you more than me, so why not?

Tyranny: I assume you all know what this is by now, if not, there's a link right there. Right now, I'm sitting on a largely complete second sourcebook (and honestly, a pretty good inroad on a 4th and 5th). Progress on this is pretty darn slow because, well, I have to come up with lists of powers and abilities for non-magical badgers and so forth. The magical variety I have covered at least. In any case, whether people poke me or not, I've committed myself to run a demo using this book at next year's NonCon, so I'll crack down sooner or later.

Anecrophilia: This one is the easiest for you people to help with. Progress thus far has pretty much gone like this: Someone mentions the concept here is interesting. My temporarily boosted self-esteem overcomes my lack of faith in my artistic ability, and I work on it until this runs dry. For what it's worth, I'm about half done with the first volume.

Slime Con: Odd that I even listed this one. This is the convention I was thinking of starting around here, but quite frankly, the existence of NonCon means there's no reason for me to bother until such day as I am banned from there... so uh... as I'd rather that not happen, let's just skip this one.

TRPG: That's misleading. It's really more like Advance Wars in a lower-tech setting. I'd need a GBA dev kit to really get this off the ground.

Action/Adventure game: Again, I'd need to get into GBA development to handle this one.

HAT!: I doubt this will get any votes, but I might be willing to make some for you people too.

Martial Arts Game: This is an exercise in taking realism to a ludicrous extreme, planned as a Mac game with a PC port. I suppose the finished product would most resemble either a game like Fallout or an online RPG... or both.

Next Comic: Next is in here for a reason.

Become Standup Comic: This also isn't really a valid option. The thing stopping me from this is more a question of finding an open mic night at some comedy club and checking if I can amuse non-nerds.

RPG RPG: This is something like 95% complete. The only reason it isn't totally finished is I was sidetracked by this other stuff at the last minute.

Get Writing Published: Again. Opportunity not motivation.

Card Game: Oh hey, I haven't explained this one to you people yet. Here's the general concept here. You buy a set of two card decks. One deck represents an army of some kind, the other represents some huge monster. These decks are pitted against each other (obviously), with each side having a very different experience. The army side does uses sorts of resource management, card combinations, and possibly some fun stuff with the positions in which cards are played on the table. The big monster side on the other hand has much simpler rules, and a wide variety of methods with which to wipe out half the opposing force.

The main gimmick with this of course is that I plan on making a whole bunch of compatible sets. So you can eventually get stuff like Godzilla Vs. The Mole Men, A Robot from the Future Vs. The Undead, A Cute Little Puppy Vs. The Renaissance, and so forth. Uh, those are the results of mixing sets obviously, bundling them THAT way would just be insane. Might do some sort of licensed sets too if it actually takes off. Like Trogdor Vs. The Peasants or something.

I suppose I should list some other things too just for good measure. Let's see, my anime page could use some sprucing up and updating one of these days. I suppose it's entirely possible that you aren't remotely interested in ANY of these things, so you can feel free to suggest I just keep starting new projects. Plus then there's stuff I'm likely forgetting. So anyway, go ahead now. There's a big honkin' mailto up on the right somewhere.
