I meant to get this up Christmas day, but I suppose you'll see why that didn't happen by the end of this. I suppose technically, Christmas started at midnight. A few hours before that, my mother and grandmother got bored and started exchanging presents a bit early. So tada, here's a book or two and Kingdom Hearts. Of course, being that I'm a bit of a workaholic, I spent the night cranking out a Q&A column for RPGamer. So I polish that off around 6 or 7 AM and promptly pass out. The phone wakes me up at 11 AM. It's the standard semi-annual call from my father (the other being on my birthday in June). During this call he invited me to his third wedding. This came as quite the shock since last time I talked to him he had just gotten divorced, and under some darn nasty circumstances at that. In any case though, I doubt I'll be taking him up on that invitation since Georgia is NOT where I want to be in August. I'm strictly a snow-monster. Can't take the heat. Speaking of snow, there was supposed to be some the day in question. Sadly, there was not. Instead I spent the day under a hideous white sky as sleet ran down my windows like the snot of the gods. So between that and getting something like 4 hours sleep, I suspect I may now be sick. So anyway, I spent the rest of the day in a state of undeath until it was time to do another Q&A column. Since then though, I've seen the Two Towers, in which I often found myself routing for orcs, and Star Trek 10, which it turns out contains no shapeshifters as previews would indicate, and instead is focused on Romulans. Of, course, the bulk of the movie is just what you get if you watch the second half of Trek 6 followed by the second half of Trek 2, with all characters updated to their tNG counterparts. Still though, it actually had more blatant internal scientific inconsistencies than inconsistencies with real science. For example, in this movie, when you clone someone, you end up with a baby version of them, instead of the full sized copy you'd expect. Of course, there is still a big error in that they seem to think that the dark side of Mercury isn't cold, and a massive plot hole came up every time a certain character got screen time, so it isn't perfect. Oh, and they also blatantly ripped off Farscape twice. Good for them. Oh, and then of course there's the reason this is going up late today. A friend of mine as a present decided to let me borrow his old junker of a PC. Ironically enough, like so many other computers, while it is decidedly inferior to my own comps, it can run WC3 and they can't. So uh, dabu! Oh yeah, the message board I set up last time has thus far managed to float in that slippery band between too active to keep up with and totally dead thus far, so it looks like will at least survive into the next year. If it's going to keep kicking around, I suppose I should mention highlights here. So far though there's not much to report. Some people tried to recall old Nickelodeon shows, and my cousin took a survey of what anime to fansub, which probably wasn't in the best place since it's not like anyone who doesn't know him in real life will see the results. Main - Rants - Anecrophilia - Anime - The Massive Vs. The Masses - Tyranny - RPG the RPG - Simple Games - Mail Me
