Ocean backdrop
This was Andrea's first view of the ocean ever... she did not realize that after a storm such as Friday night's, jellyfish appear. But Tami warned her of this, and we made sure to avoid the masses of dead jellyfish that were absolutely littering the beach. It meant neither of us actually went very far into the water, but given the sunburns we got as it is, that's probably just as well.

Andrea prepares for geekiness...
We purchased several molds at a dollar store on the boardwalk before heading down to the beach, in preparation for building a massive sand castle. It was just going to be an ordinary castle...

Tami does likewise...
However, the sand was too loose to hold together in the molds once we got started, and so we got another idea...

The (sand) city of Müllenkamp...?
Andrea didn't realize that she still had the Rood on her back while building Leá Monde... but found it amusingly appropriate. Enough so that the picture had to be taken.

The city of shade... or sand.
We wound up building Leá Monde basically because when we tried to make a normal castle tower and walls and so on, they crumbled. At first, we thought perhaps we were making North Window, but as Andrea had been playing Vagrant Story for Tami in the hotel room... we decided to do a different broken city.

Leá Monde from above
You can see the Great Cathedral's dome in the center, and the Temple of Kiltia just to the left - what's left of it, after it crumbled into the ocean. If only we could have found a little hermit crab or something... Okay, maybe that's going too far. Also, the Keep is at the bottom center, partially cut off, and on the far side, you can almost make out the entrance into the Wine Cellar.

Why yes, we are geeks.
And quite proud of it. However, we paid for this geekiness with horrible sunburn. Next year, you can be sure we will be covering every inch of our skin.

On the ferris wheel at last!
And it wasn't as traumatizing as Andrea feared it might be! We did this while on the way to the waterpark, where sadly we did not take any pictures, but floated around on a double inner tube on the Lazy River for a long time, and talked for awhile. And then went down Skypond, which left Tami baffled that Andrea could be wary of a ferris wheel, but not the slightest bit concerned when zooming down a waterslide backwards in danger of flipping over. And then we went back to the Lazy River, and let Viktor and Flik talk for awhile also. Which led to an odd idea...

Viktor. ...Sort of.
Skinny and short or not, Andrea makes a pretty decent Viktor. At least she has the pose down. Lucky that we could find a yellow shirt on the boardwalk...

Can't have Viktor without Flik.
Flik's outfit was much simpler to put together, since Tami wears a lot of blue anyhow. The swords were acquired cheaply at some boardwalk shop, once again...

Flik again, due to hair/headband issues.
In fact, Tami wore the blue bandanna for a large portion of the weekend, since Viktor and Flik is sort of our thing. (In fact, when Andrea got to the mall to meet up with her for the first time, she considered greeting Tami with "Hey, Lightning." Only to find that Tami was actually wearing this blue bandanna.)

Melee!
<Flik> Smile for the camera!
<Viktor> I'm supposed to be smiling and fighting at the same time? Bah...

Psuedo-shounen-ai? Eh.
And who cares if Flik is uncharacteristically bigger than Viktor? We had a darned good final day, despite Andrea shaking uncontrollably at this point due to the sunburn. (Similarly, no - that is not an uke-ish blush Flik has, but more sunburn.)
