Ban is one half of the Get Backers, generally considered to be the brains of the retrieval team, and sometimes referred to as a genius of battle. Physically, his strength and speed are impressive, and his right hand can grip and crush with 200kg of pressure; this is the ability he most commonly uses in a fight, and he refers to it as his "Snakebite" attack. More dangerous is his other power - the jagan, or evil eye, which allows him to cause a hallucination indistinguishable from reality to a single opponent or multiple people for up to one minute. The jagan can only be used three times per day, however, and not more than once on the same person within that time. It is unknown what will happen if he goes beyond these limits. Outside of a fight, however, his persona is not quite so impressive. He's a chain smoker, a braggart, a cheapskate, a pervert with a habit of groping women, and his intelligence is belied by the way he chronically parks in tow zones. His usual mannerisms tend to be rude, unless one is a potential paying customer. They are softened sometimes, however, by the influence of his fellow Get Backer, Ginji - who refers to him as Ban-chan. |
