Eh, not happy with this, except for the fact that I actually drew a picture with a background and went through with it all the way to completion instead of giving up halfway. But it was inspired by a serendipitous livejournal icon I made that ended up looking nothing like the original screenshot of Hardin that it started as, and I was compelled, I guess. Ironically, it was supposed to be black and white, but I ended up liking the colors I used too much to turn it into something more dark and moody.
This is the most intense Painter/Photoshop integration I've done yet, undoubtedly. Drew Hardin and background on paper, inked Hardin but not background, scanned, CGed Hardin in Painter, redrew background on a transparent layer in Photoshop, CGed majority of background in Painter, pasted previously CGed Hardin over CGed background, CGed grass and shadows and a few touchups in Photoshop. If nothing else, I at least learned a fair bit about using the two programs together in the process of doing this pic. I just wish I liked the finished product more.
