When I Am King...

Ah, Sephiroth... I've drawn him so many times, in various styles, and this is one of my favorites out of all of them. I was going to ink it, but I was afraid I'd screw it up, so when I scanned it it was way too light... J. Parish offered to fix it up a little in Photoshop though, and I gratefully accepted.
Sephy looks so intense in this picture... I think when I drew this, I was listening to Kate Bush's The Whole Story, which for some reason really works well when I'm trying to draw him. Even so, the title for this came from another album. The song Paranoid Android by Radiohead has the same sort of quiet determination within madness that I see in this picture, particularly in one line: "When I am king, you will be first against the wall... with your opinion which is of no consequence at all."
And of course, he's beautiful. ;)
