VS fan art done during church
(on bulletin inserts, with a pencil with no eraser)
(...Well, there *are* several of these...)
(5/2/04) - Boring Syd&John doodle - Another boring pic of them just randomly... being there. I need some variety.
Meditating? - I hadn't drawn Sydney and John for awhile... both their eyes ended up closed. Not sure why.
Müllenkamp - Is it bad I drew this on the back of my sermon notes? Heh... I dunno...
Joshua and Pikachu - ...Yeah. If you've read my crappy VS doujinshi, you know that my version of Josh is a big Pokémon fan, and absolutely adores Pikachu... RP sessions are often amusing. ;)
Bunny Sydney and Teddy Hardin - Uh.. "wai~!"? :D I've had this mental image for awhile, since I keep referring to Hardin as "my big teddy-bear of a swordsman" and so on... and of course, we all know about "Ore wa usagi" I'm sure. :D
Sydney, reading - He looks pretty happy for once, lost in a good book... thank goodness for escapism, hmm? (And no - drawing during church is not escapism, but something to occupy my fidgety hands. ;))
Hardin, Sydney, and Samantha - On the back of a Christian Living Classes insert which was folded into thirds to fit in the bulletin, making this sort of a triptych... And er, the sermon during which I drew this was about living life to prepare for eternity after death. Sort of ironic... And Hardin was very rushed because as I started drawing him, the pastor started wrapping up the sermon. O_o
For an upcoming fic... - A partial cast pic for a story about Mullenkamp's life. The girl beside her is Marlene, and the guy above them is... well, I'm either going to use Tertia or Galerian for the one that's closest to them. And if you know where these names came from, you're either very observant or as obsessed as I am. ;) This was on the back of a vacation bible school registration form...
Teenage Joshua and Sydney - Another scribble done on the back of a "Wednesday Night Family Supper" insert. I think I'm going to write a fic that involves Joshua at about age 17, so naturally I have to decide exactly what he looks like. He looks kind of plain here though - I think I'm going to give him long hair pulled back in a braid or something...
Sydney praying - Drawn on the back of a "Wednesday Night Family Supper" insert. This is growing on me... I might either fix it or redraw it seriously.
Joshie and Hardin! - Awwwww... Actually I really like this pic, and might ink it and fix it up (and draw Hardin's hand better... I suck at drawing hands), but it's in the junk section for now because it was a doodle done on the back of a bright neon orange flyer about a Russian tea party. But isn't it cute? :D My Hardin can still use some work, but Joshua actually kind of looks like... who he's supposed to look like. :D
Sketches/Dumb stuff
(3/7/04) - Kurusu Masaki, age 17? - Thanks to akatonbo taking Teshimine at the GBRPG, and therefore prompting my Masaki to remember when they met as teenagers. Cute, awkward, tragically fated teenagers. Randomly, I decided Masaki was into Warcraft, too. ph33r.
(12/26/03) - Bored at work - Doodled on a spare receipt. I blame it on Ka for her theory that in GB, the seme of a pairing will be whoever's hair is spikier and more dangerous-looking. Therefore, these two are pretty much out of luck...
(11/30/03) - Emishi and Amon - Mostly I just wanted to draw Amon, but... well, no matter how dangerous it is, Emishi isn't going to leave Amon all on his own. (Darned muses.)
(11/23/03) - Lovey Mages - Actually, they're supposed to be my two favorite generics from my first playing of FFT, but they're... generics. XD Brought to you by the fact that the FF12 info has sent me back into a spiral of deep steadfast love for the FF series, and Akihiko Yoshida.
(11/16/03) - Some dude - No pictures in my mind I really had to draw, so I just doodled a random guy from nothing at all. He kind of looks like Tidus, if Tidus was a farmer.
(11/9/03) - Jealousy - RP-inspired doodle of Kanou, Masaki, and Teshimine. Shockingly, Kanou looks like Kanou, even though I've never drawn him before or in fact paid that much attention to his design, nor did I have references while drawing this. ...Masaki's hair is a pain in the butt, by the way.
(11/2/03) - Clayman and Emishi again - Because that first attempt sucked. Unfortunately, so does this one. I blame her hair. I fear that I may actually end up drawing fan art of them for real, stupidly enough.
(10/26/03) - Clayman and Emishi - More from the GBRPG. Why yes, we are on crack, but uninvolved readers have deemed their seemingly random relationship "cute and sweet".
(10/19/03) - Emishi-chan! - Inspired by *ahem* certain events in the GBRPG. Doesn't he make a coooool girl?! (Crap, I'm turning him into James...)
(10/14/03) - Rainy bunnies - It was a really nice chilly rainy day, which made me think of bunnies snuggling warmly under a bush, where it was drier. ...I dunno, it's cute.
(10/5/03) - Happy Happy <3 - Emishi and Amon (manga-only character!)... uh... being very happy and cute, as usual. As for the dialogue... I was sleep-deprived.
(9/28/03) - Boring Gremio pic - It's not a bad pic of him... but... he's not doing anything and nothing interesting is going on...
(9/7/03) - Random Bunnygirl - Haven't given her a name yet, but I think it starts with M.
(8/31/03) - Dryad Dance - The Seiken Densetsu series elemental, getting down to some music, as seen in Legend of Mana. Heh.
(8/24/03) - Soul Blazer Hero - I love this game. And I'm considering making his costume for cosplay, even if I have to work with 16-bit sprites as my only references... Which is why I sketched this, to see if I could imagine him in less of an SD style.
(8/19/03) - Colorless Girl - I dreamed about a girl a week or so ago, who I became friends with... maybe I'll fix the hands later, but this is just a sketch. Pretty decent likeness though, down to the fact that her hairstyle didn't flatter her face at all.
(8/10/03) - Bunny poses - I like the poses my bunnies take up. ;) Doodled in church...
(8/9/03) - Cheer Up. - ...I'm not sure why I drew this, aside from the whole snifit invasion thing in #fret. But even that doesn't explain it, really...
(8/5/03) - Sydney with Czarine - Er, old pic, recently rediscovered. Sydney with his sword - I was rather intrigued to learn it had a name. And attempted a bleh background, which is why this is "junk" and will probably never be finished, despite the fact I did an okay job on Sydney.
(8/3/03) - Festival! - Based on RP events. Again. Tir needs a haircut, yes - with his hair up in the bandanna, Gremio sort of didn't notice it had gotten long... he'll nag him when they sober up. :D
(7/13/03) - Not good, Viktor. - Based on RP events. Viktor decided to teach Tir a little travelling song... of course, all the songs he knows are dirty. Tir found this amusing, Gremio... less so.
(7/1/03) - Solid Snape - Inspired by an odd comment by Dizzybum. Oh, and I'm sure there's Death Eater/Snake Eater puns to be made, and of course there's the Slytherin thing, but I'm too lazy right now to be witty.
(6/??/03) - Sleepy Ginji - Drawn in church, after wen made some comment about Ban letting Ginji sleep on his shoulder in the helicopter in episode 35...
(6/15/03) - Hugs! Again. - More Tir and Gremio cuteness. Drawn on Father's Day, which is both fitting and sort of sick here... I hate the way I always draw Tir looking too young.
(6/??/03) - Tare Viktor? - Drawing Tare Ginji was fun, and for some reason I could just picture a Tare Viktor drunk, sitting on Flik's head... with fans...
(6/??/03) - Moo! - See the cover to vol. 20 of the Get Backers manga. ;)
(6/??/03) - Hugs! - To Gremio from an adoring Young Master...
(5/25/03) - Angel Yorda sketch - Doodled during church... the proportions are way off because I'm sick and also lazy, but I like the pose and all, so maybe I'll redo this as a real pic...
(5/22/03) - Stupid Emishi. - I like Emishi. He's fun to draw, and I wish there was more Emishi fanstuff. But he is still "Stupid Emishi".
(5/20/03) - Ban, Ginji, and 360. - As the filename would indicate, this was doodled in Programming Logic class, on my notes. Which means you also get to see my crappy handwriting.
(4/20/03) - Tir and Gremio. - Inspired by a certain couple of RPs... perhaps fittingly, given what happened in the latest RP, drawn on Easter morning.
(2/23/03) - This may not happen. - If it does, explaining it would be a spoiler. Sooo, I'll just say that it's Viktor and Gremio, and some bad stuff happened. Yep.
(2/16/03) - Thomas and Cecile - Drawn during church again. It sucks, but it's cute, and I think they're singing, as in that fic I wrote...
Sydney's Lab - Drawn because of a pic over on the real VS fan art page, and Caph demanded I upload it. He also wrote the following based on it:
In Sydney's laboratooooooryyyyy... lives the weirdest preeeeist you've ever seeeeeen...
But Ashley blows his rituaaaaaals... to smiiiiiithereeeeeeeeeeeens...
THere is gloooom and dooooom and Guildenstern's a tooooool...
In Sydney's LAAAAAAAAAB
Birds' Nest? - Heh... drawn during church. I don't know why I drew this, except that I'm really in love with ICO at the moment, and there's all that stuff about Yorda and the birds... I got Ico's outfit wrong, but eh well. Never tried drawing him before. :P
Cookie Delivery! - Another drawing done during church, but not VS, so... Anyway, this is Selphie and one of Kit's kittens, Milo, being "SUPAA-KAWAII~!" It's a long story.
SD Syd, John, and Mülly! - I drew this silly pic for use as an icon on LiveJournal, but had to shrink it down a ways and crop it... so here's the big version.
Potato yaoi! - ...It's complicated. Well okay, not complicated as much as completely stupid. I wonder how much this incredibly sexy picture could be auctioned off for? ;)
Page'o'scribble! - Warnings on this pic: Shounen-ai content, and very random and stupid humor. I excuse this by saying that I was bored and in the mood to draw VS pics while under the influence of #fret. Just.. don't ask.
You better NOT shoot the sheriff! - One of my VS muses visited me in a dream... and uh... it was a very weird dream. Suffice to say I was his deputy. *sigh* And Pokemon's Officer Jenny was the one who escorted the outlaws to jail... Hey... what a nice little padded room this is...
Karanthasa Elisei - One of my favorites among my original characters. Found this sketch while looking through a stack of old artwork on my desk, and realized it wasn't bad.
Kiss! - My first shounen-ai type pic, which folks on IRC requested. I dunno if I'd have obliged them if not for a migraine seriously impairing my judgment. ;) My left eye stopped functioning halfway through drawing this, so the proportions and angles and stuff suck, but for a half hour doodle drawn while in a dizzy, half-blind stupor, not bad. Unless, of course, you have issues with homosexuality. :P I think I may actually fix this sometime...
Black Mage? - Heh heh heh... he is a black mage... sorta... I think I'm going to do a better version of this pic someday, because it amuses me. Even if he does remind me of a farmer. :P Blame this one on an impromptu RP session on IRC.
Yaoi no Senshi - Just a quick little doodle inspired by one of the infamous "PSX board white space threads" that tend to pop up whenever Scribe Shanky and Ramza Beoulve start posting, but this time a couple more characters joined in. For those who don't know what yaoi is, this won't make any sense, and to those who do... well, this image is not graphic, but a bit disturbing anyway just because of one of the "people" that's in it. Heh heh heh... Scary thoughts...
Agent vs. Agent - I forget what on earth inspired this, but this is a pic of the GIA mascots, Larissa and Kelvin, taking on new disguises. Just to let you know how serious I was about drawing this picture, I drew it on the back of the ramen noodle pic below.
Monster Rancher sketch - I've been wanting to draw some MR fan art for awhile, and I think my big project is going to be making some cool wallpaper for my desktop, since I did name my drives after the various monsters... First I wanted to sketch the characters out and get a better idea how they all went together, before I started working on complicated poses and composition. So this is me doodling the entire main cast.
A bowl of ramen. - I have no idea why, but someone sent me an email one day which said something like "Sketch Artist, huh? How about you sketch me up some ramen noodles, huh?! ha ha ha!" Well gee... that was so random and weird, I couldn't turn a fellow schitzo down. ;)
Battle at Dorter Trade City - Heheh... I hate Algus. While playing through again, I got to this battle and had killed all the enemies except one wizard, who was out of MP. I decided to get a little extra JP by just throwing stones at him for awhile, but then good ol' Algus decided he was going to take out the wizard himself... so... instead of throwing rocks at the *wizard*... Heh heh heh.
Cid Highwind, Lollipop Girl - Mwahaha... someone on a message board was cussing so much that someone else commented "You're making Cid sound like a lollipop girl!" How could I resist the mental image that brought up?
Selphieroth - Another thing I can't resist: bad puns.
Sailor Sephiroth - Speaking of Sephiroth in drag... By the way, the above three pics were drawn *really* late at night, do not hold me accountable for these. ;)
Mecha-Ellcrys - Another board in-joke... during one of the random insanity threads that are so common, someone turned me (or rather, my old online persona) into a 40 foot tall robot. Too bad I don't have a cool fight song like Jet Jaguar!
Who is this? It's a secret! - Well, not for much longer... it was just a bored charcoal sketch because I was tired of the picture that I had in my defaults, and so I tried to see if anyone could figure out who this was. One person got it right, I believe...
Mario-ohki - My contribution to the Tokémon craze over at Toastyfrog. I'm not sure if it's cute or disturbing.
Three Stages of Miang - Shortly after I got my graphics tablet, I decided to play around with it a little in different programs, and I doodled Miang in Windows Paint... then took it over to Photoshop and blurred it... then applied some filter or another. And for some reason I think it looks kinda cool. *shrug*
Doodled Angel - The very first thing I ever did with my graphics tablet. I was basically just playing with it and making random lines, and somehow it turned into a weird little semi-abstract angel.
Me and Sephy - Ugggghh, this pic is awful. Drawn during my "I have to draw anime style because everyone else does!" phase. But it's kinda funny, and a pretty accurate pic of me... right down to my lavender Dar Williams shirt. And the look on Sephy's face is funny. ;)
Chibi-Aeris - Another late-night doodle from my stupid anime phase, but this one's kinda cute. Heheh...
Buggin' Hagen - Mwahaha... another board in-joke, involving Bugenhagen and Red XIII being burned out hippie potheads. Buggin' Hagen (for whom all the credit belongs to Penhari) and Nanaki became regular posters there for awhile, thanks to... Sage Dave Newberry. ;)
J. Parish SD and Chibi-Ellcrys - I don't know why we were posting with those names... but for some reason I decided to illustrate it. Hmmph.
My Sephy - The first Sephiroth fan art I ever drew. And it took me over 2 years to do one that I didn't hate!
Cloud and Aeris - My first attempt at fan art (besides some random NES stuff when I was about 14...). Also my first attempt at anime-style art. It sucks beyond belief, and I'm only putting it here as encouragement to anyone else who's starting out and thinks they suck... you can't possibly suck as much as I did. :P
The Freak Fourteen - Heheh, *old* picture. This was my party in a pen and paper RPG that my brother made up, from back when I was about 14-15... I'm the one in the center holding a gun. During the course of this campaign, my character went back in time and met the X-Men (which is why Magneto is in the picture), married Angel and brought him back to my world before he became Archangel (which is why he's next to me in the picture), gave birth to an omnipotent daughter (in the lower right), met several semi-intelligent speaking gorillas, rescued Joel and the bots from the Satellite of Love... but I don't remember why the one guy wearing the Horseman of Apocolypse uniform has six arms, or what was the deal with his brother behind him.
Freak Fourteen Day Care - When me and my friend's characters had kids, we decided that Mikey, one of the semi-intelligent speaking gorillas mentioned above, could watch them while we were off on missions. After all, he was like their "big brother". So pictured are my first two daughters and my friend's daughter... and Mikey. Old crappy picture, but somehow still amuses me.
Die, Die, Power Rangers! - Another picture from the same era as the previous two, which was roughly the same time Power Rangers began being shown. My friends and my brother and I hated that show passionately, and MSTed it nearly every day. And during that time, we were drawing our own superhero comics... soooo...
BloodKillDeathFireStar - Along with the Power Rangers, at that point we were really growing tired of Rob Liefeld. And so just so he could retire early, I sketched this little picture of the ultimate Liefeld character. Even as old and terrible as this is (and in pencil on colored paper), for some reason people still seem to like it. O_o
